Educational Activities
One of the principle aims of The Lynchmere Society is to educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture of our area. We are particularly keen to encourage local schools to visit our commons, enjoy the wildlife and learn about their natural history. To that end we have direct links to a number of schools, several of which are corporate members of  the Society,
We have provided bird boxes (made from our own timber) to local schools and we encourage teachers to bring their classes on nature walks where, for example, they can look at owlboxes or bat boxes and be given talks on the local flora and fauna. Other youth groups such as the Cubs are also always welcome to come and make use of our facilities. Please get in touch if you would like us to help you with a school or youth group; given a little notice we can usually provide an expert to accompany your group.
